I didn’t take the usual route to dance (not starting training until I was 16), but after gaining a performing arts diploma, a dance degree, teaching qualifications, bucket loads of experience, and over 22 years of choreography and community dance teaching later, my favourite things to do are merging dance performance with dance fitness to adults who always wanted that chance to dance when they were young, but now they're all grown up, assume that dancing is a long-forgotten dream! And teaching creative dance to children and adults of all ages, letting them explore movement and dance with no restrictions!
I am at my happiest and best when teaching and breaking down moves step by step, and love seeing you get the the moves, whether it's for fitness or just for you. As an educator I believe that you can only let yourself go when you fully feel & understand the moves you're doing; I want you to do them safely and to your best ability no matter your experience level. As a presenter, it's my job to make sure you can fully understand the brand and ethos of the class you're in, and make sure you feel part of our show (even a class is a bit of a show!)
In my other life, I have 2 dogs, I am a professional photographer of 13 years, work part time for a small local charity, Regional Welsh Co-ordinator and photographer for the UK charity Remember My Baby, and choreographer for non-profit Merthyr Performance Company.
In 2023 I brought Turn'd Up Fitness' first ever appearance at a fitness & wellness festival at The Big Retreat, and am very excited to say I've been invited back in 2024 and 2025!
Safe to say I am always pretty busy, but if you'd like to work with me, please get in touch and let's see what we can do!
From HIIT & low impact dance fitness, theatre choreography, dance fitness instructor mentoring, choreography PTs, group dance parties, personalised choreography, masterclasses, workshops and so much more, there's always something to get involved in and I'm always looking to try something new!
